The event took place in Nexes Forallac yesterday, Thursday, November 21, at 12:00 PM
(22.11.24) Nexes, the business incubator in Forallac, hosted the official presentation of the Empordà Industrial Estates Association yesterday, November 21. This new entity was created with the aim of representing and supporting companies located in the industrial estates of the municipalities that are part of the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan for Local Development and Employment of La Bisbal d’Empordà, Forallac, Corçà, Cruïlles, Monells, Sant Sadurní de l’Heura and Ullastret. The project is the result of joint reflection sessions between business people and city councils that have been held recently.
The presentation was given by the president Sergi Illa who highlighted that the association aims to “establish itself as an interlocutor with the administrations on the problems common to all companies, entrepreneurs and owners of industrial estates. He also stressed that the objective is “to launch projects that favor the competitiveness of companies and that the main lines they want to work on are safety, energy saving, mobility or circularity, among others”.
The presentation was attended by technicians Dani Sabater, head of economic promotion of La Bisbal d’Empordà, Quim Gudayol, the manager of Nexes, the Forallac business incubator and Estel Sleep, the technician responsible for the “Dynamization of Economic Activity Zones” axis of the strategic plan. All of them, together with the entrepreneurs who are part of the current board of directors, have worked closely during the year 2024 to make the association a reality.
President Sergi Illa was accompanied by all the members of the current board of directors: Jordi Trayter, vice president, Abel Rei, secretary, Dolors Pijuan, treasurer, Carles Pou, member and Marc Regencós, member.
The event was attended by around 40 attendees, including all the mayors of the municipalities in the strategic plan that have industrial land, Òscar Aparicio (La Bisbal d’Empordà), Josep Sala (Forallac) and Raül Yruela (Corçà), Dani Encinas (Cruïlles Monells Sant Sadurní de l’Heura) and councilor Enric Marquès, first vice president of the Baix Empordà Regional Council.
At the end of the event, the businessmen and businesswomen attending were able to apply to join the association and around 20 applications were collected.
According to president Sergi Illa, “Today we mark the official start of the association with its public presentation. We hope that, in the coming days, we can increase the number of members in order to achieve broader representation and consolidate our capacity for action.”
