The strategic plan renews the local development agent, Estel Sleep

The program aims to stimulate and implement policies and programs that promote economic promotion.

In December of last year, the Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) of the Generalitat de Catalunya awarded a subsidy of 36,000 euros to the City Council of La Bisbal d'Empordà for the hiring of an employment and local development agent with the aim of carrying out the actions detailed in the II Strategic Plan of La Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret.

The subsidy has now been renewed for the year 2025 and therefore, the technician will continue working on the axes set out in his work plan.

The program of employment and local development agents (AODL) launched by the SOC aims to stimulate and execute policies and programs that favor economic promotion, together with other agents in the territory, through the most integrated, equitable and sustainable possible socioeconomic development that generates employment.

In this sense, during the year 2023, the II Strategic Plan for Local Development and Employment was drawn up for the municipalities of La Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Corçà, Ullastret i Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura and which defines six axes of intervention:

1. Quality tourism model.

2. Promotion of agri-food production.

3. Promotion of the ceramic and artisanal sector.

4. Promotion of economic activity areas.

5. Attracting and retaining talent.

6. Attention to people.

Thanks to the subsidy, it is possible to continue having a technique, the Estel Sleep, which works in axes 2 and 4, thus reinforcing the economic dynamism of the 5 municipalities that are part of the plan. The technique has Torre Maria in La Bisbal d'Empordà and Nexes, the business incubator of Forallac, as its headquarters.

One of the outstanding actions of the past year 2024 has been the support for the creation of an association of entrepreneurs of the industrial estates, making public-private collaboration possible in this territory. In the axis of promoting agri-food production, the launch of the "Origen Empordanet" campaign stands out, a campaign that brings together and makes known the producers of this area
