The study to assess the feasibility of an energy community in the industrial estates of La Bisbal d’Empordà, Forallac, and Corçà has begun.

As part of the strategic plan of La Bisbal d’Empordà, Forallac, Corçà, Monells, Cruïlles i Sant Sadurní de l’Heura and Ullastret, and in collaboration with the Ei Empordà Industrial Park Business and Property Owners Association, we are participating in a study to assess the feasibility of creating an energy community in the industrial parks of our territory.
This study is promoted by the Energy Office of the Diputació de Girona and the Regional Energy Transition Office of Baix Empordà.

The aim of energy communities is to enable shared energy services that help reduce costs, improve efficiency, and promote sustainability among local businesses. Other reference industrial parks in Catalonia have already begun this process, such as Bufalvent in Manresa and Riudellots de la Selva.

Although the final results will be analysed collectively, two consultancies will carry out the study:

• OICOS will carry out the study for the industrial parks in La Bisbal d’Empordà and Forallac.

• EPI will conduct the study for the industrial park in Corçà.

The project begins with an initial study to better understand the energy reality of local businesses. For this purpose, and in order to obtain real data, companies are asked to grant access to their consumption data to the external consultancies conducting the study.
